This is a Mitsubishi XD500U projector, which I had off eBay last week and promptly delivered by a nice man from the Parcel Force today.
Yep, it’s quite orange isn’t it! I’ve heard Orange is the new Black but I would still have liked it to be a little more hot-rod red.
It’s going to need to be modified a bit to work in my 3D printer and I’ll post pictures when I do that.
For now, I’m going to put it to one side and concentrate on getting the mechanical parts working.
…and for that I’m still waiting on a stepper controller from another eBay vendor.
In the meantime, here’s a video of the kind of thing I’m hoping to be able to achieve when I’m done
This is a bottom up (projector underneath) printer whereas I’m going to start off making a top down version.
